With how many people buy any sort of coupe nowadays? Probably.

(OK, that’s replacing the previous one, and is a refresh of it, but still.)

They’re doing just fine with what people actually buy.

Lincoln needs an attention getting car. Caddy with the first gen CTSV raised some eyebrows, then doubled down with the 2nd gen. Whether it’s a coupe or sedan is irrelevant, which sadly is what Lincoln is at this point.

Pair with Apple and release a V8, RWD Lincoln Mark X.

My favorite Ford topic: Mustang platform with 4” wheelbase stretch. Base engine: 2.0 ecoboost. Upgrade engine: 2.7 ecoboost. 10 speed auto all around.

Why don’t they just use the damn mustang platform and a lineup of eco boost motors with Lincoln’s great seats and better than average interior? Boom, very competitive personal luxury coupe/grand tourer.

Take the Mustang platform, shove the 3.5 ecoboost in it... profit?

No they can’t compete at any level with their lineup. They had a chance with the Continental but then they made it front wheel drive. It was a wasted opportunity that shows that they aren’t serious about competing with the best.

This segment is really small for all manufacturers, yes?

The Continental is FWD!?

What in the hell, Ford?

I’m still surprised Ford hasn’t made a touring/”personal luxury” version of the Mustang for Lincoln on the new platform yet.

That was one of the appealing things about the DEW98 platform.

I want to know what kind of drugs the Ford execs are on.

If this was a good and just world, no, they couldn’t. But, it isn’t, and they have crossovers, so it doesn’t matter.

I get the concept that they’re doing. VAG does the same thing with VW and Audi but lets be honest, Lincoln used to be better than that.

given the shift to suvs cuvs, I think its rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. MB, BMW can afford to have niche top line coupes,, but my guess is Lincolns budget is super tight.
