I get to experience a subway for the first time in my life this weekend. How much am I going to hate myself for choosing New Years weekend for it?

how have you never experienced a subway?

Well it depends on what you’re looking for, but if you’re posting here I’m going to guess yes, you’re going to regret going to NYC on the uh...most fanny pack-ist of days.

As someone who rode the subway in the 80's, this is stunning.

Unless you’re under or near Times Square near midnight, you’ll be fine.

Oh classy!

I really don’t get the wrapping subway cars thing, unless it’s directing tourists to a show that needs some exposure. Those of us that live here either already shop at BB (I do) or they don’t. And that must cost a fortune.

That’s what I’ll be there for. I want to experience it once.

I figured I would but I guess sometimes one must traverse hell.

I’m from the Midwest and have never traveled to a place with one. Finally being an adult with a bit of expendable cash I get to choose to travel now.

Seriously, every strip mall has one. Sandwich quality has gone downhill though.

With all of that sweet royalty money Brooks Brothers gets from Ralph Lauren for using their Polo name, I don’t this really hurt them in the long run. Interesting fact about South Beach name brand stores. Most of the flagship stores on Lincoln Road on South Beach all operate at a loss. Which the companies don’t mind, because they consider the stores advertisements. They don’t care if they actually make money or not, because they can say they have a store on Lincoln Road on South Beach. So they fall under the ad budget for most companies.

I am not their ideal customer. I wait for the the $159 for 3 shirts sales (FUCK you $179 sale!). Couple pairs of pants, and if I needed a new suit I’d probably head over there. Otherwise, my needs are easily met online. My sizes have been the same forever, so I can buy without having to worry about returns.

I am worse than you. Their clearance rack and a discount sale is when I like to go in there. I’ve walked out of there with so much clothing for under a hundred bucks. Plus they last a long time unlike other brands.

The shirts will last a long time if you take care of them ...

That is a given. Wash inside out in cold water, and always hang dry. I have so many shirts that are 10+ years old, and still look new.
