Haha, my grandmother had a square-headlight sedan in this body. Quite the turd.

Ooh, a 1975 Granada? I sometimes see those, and with square headlights too.
In fact I saw a coupé just like this last week.

$1,500 would be a generous price.

I knew a guy with one of those that had a V8 and a four-speed.

Fascinating. What kind of engine would come in those?

Quite a variety. At the time Ford permitted themselves the luxury of separate V4 and V6 engines for their UK and German operations so depending upon market you could have had a 2.0, 2.3 or 2.8 Cologne V6, a 1.7 Cologne V4, a 2.0 Essex V4 or a 2.5 or 3.0 Essex V6. Later the 2.0s were replaced by a 2.0 I4.
In addition South Africa had a 4.9 V8 option.
No diesels, as they weren’t a thing then.

But it has THE RARE LUGGAGE RACK OPTION!!!
That makes it a Nice Price, right? RIGHT???

Pretty sure that’s a Mercedes, dude.

That might explain the price.

I was stunned when I was googling for photos of her car and saw a manual floor shifter. Too bad this was the nadir of malaise, otherwise it might have been an interesting combo!
