Last Sunday I helped my wife and a couple from her office taste beers for their office party. It was arduous duty but I managed to get through it.

I would give anything to have some beer right now. I hate being sick.

I love wine. I love wine tastings. I really don’t have a good palette, though, and I never seem to “taste” what most people do. To me it either TASTES GOOD or TASTES BAD. I usually just nod & agree when I hear somebody gush over flavors they detect.
Whatever. Give me something crazy dark red and stupid dry and I’ll guzzle that stuff. Wine is awesome.

Yeah, same. I enjoy wine, but am not sensitive enough to appreciate the finer differences - but, there is a pretty big gulf between “good” and “bad” that at least makes it possible to figure that out.
One thing I have found is that I prefer white wines from concrete tanks over oak barrels.

Good family friends own a few wineries and are super serious about their stuff. They opened a $400 bottle of wine and were absolutely gushing over it, and I felt bad even drinking it, since it just tasted “like wine” to me haha
