Take a Dodge Demon, or build a dragster of your own, replace the rear axle with one from a dually truck and have a dragster with four rear tires. Surely would have to trailer it to the track and back, but who cares.

Why hasn’t this been done?

(Yes this is some really strong weed thanks for asking.)

I think there’s plenty of drag tires that are just as wide as a dually axle.

Its already picking up the front end with the single tires it has. No need for more grip

Comparing two dually tires/wheels with the gap in contact patch with the two tires two a single wide rim and wide tire, I’m guessing the trade off of traction to unsprung weight would be too far in the wrong direction.

I was going to try to keep the joke going by asking why people don’t then just get four really, really wide tires but I think I have been taken seriously enough for one night.

It’s been done. On both axles. With all-wheel drive.

With four Merlins.

If only there was a way to get an SV650 to pick up its front tire... It must need more grip!

More tires reduces acceleration due to more rotating weight, you’d instead go to a softer tire like a full-size drag radial used on Pro Mods.

picking up front tire = bad. oil pick up at the front of the motor+ extended wheelies = blown engine.

That’s why it’s a good idea to have several backup SVs, in case one breaks while doing something motorcycles are known for doing. /s
