It travel half of the world to reach here. Getting supplies at a Target south of Houston.

I’ve never seen anything like this in my life. I’m intrigued, though...

This is a common vehicle around Europe.
Not as common in 4x4 form
Not uncommon to see such vehicles registered in Germany, Switzerland and Austria made into global campers.
Also sometimes based on the smaller Iveco Daily.

I’d convert a daily, but these big trucks are stupid. Too big and heavy to do any real exploring. If you need a winch to change a tire, its too big.

I thoroughly believe he who dies with the best stories wins. Cheers to him!

I think you’d be surprised what these can overcome.
I’m more Defender 110, 130 or 150.

I’ve seen them here in Southern Utah a lot and I talk to the owners. It seems like a lot of hassle where it doesn’t need to be.

I see them in the Bay Area a lot, it seems these overlanders have SF as a main point of interest. I see Oz, NZ, Swiss etc... going around the world, also BMW motorcycles with many gizmos in groups.

The Fords however have way too large a wheelbase to be useful anywhere where brake over angle could be an issue.
Other than the bottom Iveco Daily camper, the others have high approach, brake over and departure/exit angles.
The Ivecos have tried and tested mechanicals.

I think the daily works great, just anything bigger than a daily doesn’t. A daily built earthroamer would be just right for me.

I think each have their place. The Daily is fine for road and poor road surface conditions between rural towns where the Eurocargo with it’s higher ground clearance and wider track would be more beneficial to more rougher terrain.
