I know it is a more expensive Land Cruiser but I think it looks better.

I just saw one in that color, new no plates, on the Golden Gate last night. It’s nice but I would have the Cruiser, they are too foofoo for me.

The interior is very much better. The exterior. Hell nay.

I prefer mine with a somewhat less huge and pointy electric shaver stuck on the front.

They seem to depreciate faster. I want my wife to get one but she says it’s too slow.

Also known as “would you rather have the shitty Toyota infotainment screen, or the shitty Lexus infotainment screen?”

Sidenote: I do find it odd that the LX gets height adjustable suspension on all 4 corners and the Land Cruiser doesn’t, given that NOBODY is taking their LX off road where people who buy Land Cruiser owners at least have a country cabin with a dirt road approach or hunting grounds that require a little forest service road. I mean, its not like the Land Cruiser is spare in its luxury equipment standards, you can’t even get it without all the goodies...why not at least even offer it?

I thought land cruisers did not follow the laws of depreciation... how can it be faster if the original speed was naught?

its funny isn’t it, that the infotainment in the cheapest Uconnect FCA product is a FAR better product than most luxury makes these days. These companies need to farm out their infotainment to industries that know this stuff better. Frankly I think the future needs to be infotainment modules that communicate with the vehicle not built in units. Make the HVAC/Radio controls physical but redundant with the infotainment module and everything else can be controlled via an upgradable, exhangable unit that keeps pace with technology. Technology is advancing FAR faster than vehicle production cycles. From the time you start making a car to the time it goes on sale is AGES in the tech world.

There are a couple of dueling ones at my son’s school. One stock Lexus, in typical Lexus silver, and a very mildly modded Cruiser, mainly it’s got a bumper and some Rock Warrior wheels on it. I prefer the exterior of the Cruiser even in stock form though. Not a fan of the huge Predator on this or the Gx460. In fact of the GX models, I prefer the pre-facelift GX460 over any of other models, although I’d take any of ‘em.

Toyota (and Lexus) is particularly bad. They’re clinging to their shitty Entune platform and refusing to support CarPlay or Android Auto.
I like your modular idea but unfortunately we’re a long way away from the days when most car companies were using a standard single- or double-DIN slot in the dash. They’d rather integrate the screen into the design of the interior, but then it makes you that much more permanently stuck with their shitty tech, and even if it were in a removable slot, many of the screens control a bunch of vehicle functions outside of the usual stereo/nav so you couldn’t get rid of them even if you wanted. (Although a factory upgrade that still supports these features would be good.)

You’re not wrong but I prefer the 570’s front end to the Crusier’s.

My only gripe is the steering wheel. In anything other than a sports car I prefer a four spoke. I tend to rest my hand at 6 o’clock when I am on the highway.

Yeah I think they depreciate faster because the LX buyers get a lease moreso than the LC buyers. Lexus owners tend to want new and shiny LC owners are less likely to care. (Of course I am generalizing here)

Something has to differentiate the LX from the LC. Also reliability tends to favor fixed suspension over height adjustments.

If you get that then Santa sure as heck needs to send me this...
or this...
or even this...
The Lexus can go jump a speed bump in a car park...

You’re not wrong, but interestingly enough one of the mods thats popular in Australia with the 200 series is replacing the coils with airbags for height adjustment and load leveling. It wouldn’t hurt with its payload ratings either to be able to add more pressure to the bags.
