I think the asking price is unrealistic because 4 doors, for one reason. Also, for that kind of money, I want more than new bushings in the suspension. I want an aftermarket ride/performance suspension upgrade.

Reluctant CP. I like it, but More-Doors just aren’t worth that much yet.

Too modified for that kinda dough. A survivor that nice could probably command that kind of price.

If ever. I prefer four doors, but the market does not.

Nice and clean, I’d drive the heck out of it.

While I have no doubt that the owner has $17.5k in the car, I don’t think it’s actually worth that much as a purchase.

Gosh; maybe. As it sits, I’m thinking $6k. Or $6,500. I think the guy is going to be disappointed.

That’s a really nice car, and I like what they did with it. But it’s just not worth that much. I’m with CalzoneGolem - a low mileage, true survivor might get close to that.

This sounds like the classic case of someone trying to recoup their investment to me.

Maybe he doesn’t actually want to sell it.

I’m biased towards two doors, but my appreciation for four doors is growing.

It’s priced that way.

I don’t like the long doors on a coupe generally, and I like the idea of having friends or family along for the ride.

Add an 8 track player and maybe.

Our ‘67 is pretty damn roomy, actually. I’m 275lbs, 5 ft. 10, and I can get comfortable in the back.

I don’t know about that low. A $6k specimen is going to have a lot of rot/issues. Seems to me he’s just asking high because a lot of work was put into restoring it and making it his own.

I don’t know the market at all for a car like that. Where would you put the price?

I think with cars in general, but more so older cars, you really have to go check them out and drive them to gauge any value. Would be nice to get an understanding of what kind of restoration it went through. This looks clean from the pictures so I think he could get at least 14-15k for it.

Depends on the buyer too. An older gent might want to buy it to putt around town. He might not like the shift kit, but I know I wouldn’t mind it!

I was recently looking at ones in my area, prepare your eyes...

Here’s one for a similar asking price. I’d take the one you posted over it though, 2 door SS with a 396 be damned.

Yikes. I’d rather have a family car with a 400-horse V8 and all the running gear and quiet mufflers that you only hear when you’re spanking someone or doing a smoke-out. But yikes.

I paid $1800 for my van: www.tinyurl.com/vandurapics

My soft spot is for 69 Chevelle but yea...very hard to find a clean one within any type of reasonable budget.

That’s an awesome van, what are your plans for it?

Thank you. Keep it largely as-is, but the S-10 rims need to go and replace with something steel and period-appropriate. Old-school split exhaust, a T-5 manual five-speed, and then we’ll see. Maybe a rebuild at some point with pistons that raise the compression ratio and an “RV” cam. But just a dependable driver otherwise. That’s a ‘71, the introduction year for that style of GM van and this one was a special order, base model with windows and the towing package. 80,000 miles and I got it from the original owner.
