Today I have a steady job, live with a woman who loves me, and feel like things are steady and good. Four years ago, I made this post:

I’m going through some rough times right now. Fortunately, not like that (again), but work, school, kids, finances (but, you know, always there, and never enough) all just making stress. Hoping it gets better soon.

Sometimes when I get down I just need to think of all the things I am grateful for: 1. I have two running cars that are reliable. 2. Me and my family are healthy. 3. My house is warm. 4. I have plenty of food. 5. I have a good job that provides me with too much work.

I spent 11 months unemployed. When you’re in the thick of things it’s so easy to lose sight of things and get discouraged.

I didn’t get permanent employment until 14 months later, but got some massively well paying consulting work for 4 months. I made more in 2015 than I did any other year by a five digit amount despite not working for more than half of it.

Man, it’s not exactly tough times, but it’s not easy. This is the life of the middle class.

I have cars that work, and just moved some cars around that don’t work. I have a lot of things and not going hungry. Job is steady. Kids will get Christmas presents from us About to pay on some bills.

I’m leaving out all the negatives because that’s not what this thread is about.

I’ll play this game!

1) Three running and “reliable” (as reliable as a car that likes catching on fire can be) versions of my dream car.

2) Mum is healthy, dad is slowly killing himself with cigarettes after going clean for a year because of cancer. So, I guess the cancer is having an easier time now. :/ I gained back 15 pounds, brushed with suicide, and have developed an eating disorder. However at this moment I’m back to correcting that path.

3) I abandoned my house.. I currently live on a couch at my parents’ house. Better than homelessness.

4) Too much food lol

5) I was promoted and loving the new position. I’m seemingly cementing myself with this company. My constant fear of being discriminated and becoming homeless has been fading with time. :)
