Nice, congrats! I’m sure your enthousiasm about bikes should definitely help to sell a few.

Wow! Congrats! What did you do before?

Can you find me a job at a car museum so I can have my dream job too? :(
![]() 12/04/2017 at 17:14 |

Step 1) Apply at the Lane
Step 1B) Get hired at the Lane
Step 2) Move to Tennessee
Step 3) You now work at a car museum.

I was working as a retail employee at a motorcycle shop. selling parts and gear and the like. It was okay...but the store carried shitty products and the owner/manager was a little on the shady side.

This definitely seems like an upgrade. Where are you located?

Wishing you great success! With access to all this machinery, maybe you could start a YouTube channel with reviews to show off your wares and drive sales? Just a thought, if your employer would be down for it.

Since I live in Georgia I miiiight consider it

Nice! Do you sell any specific brand or just everything?

Nice! Is.... there a big market for motorcycles in the winter in Toronto?

I would love to get hired there, but the issue would be having to move to a country where I am living under Trump. :/

Everyone acts like it’s it’s the worst thing ever but the only things my that has changed is my twitter and Facebook feed. The states have enough power it’s hard to really highly effect us daily.

Darn. I thought you were a southern Oppo for some reason.

I’ve got a good paying corporate job so volunteering suffices but if I ever won the lottery I would 100% offer to work there for cheap just enough to pay bills.

Congrats!!

well, a lot of ppl put down payments for factory orders that we can take our time to fill. plus, winter is a better time to buy, and a great time to get some discounts on year old stock as they try to make way for new models.
![]() 12/04/2017 at 18:16 |

Nice. I can imagine that motorcycle sales are much more fun than car sales, since it is for fun and not a life altering financial decision. Also employee discounts.

show up in a different bike every day. see what happens.
congrats!

I AM allowed to take home demos.
expect to see reviews and maybe motovlogs if I ever get a camera that can do that
![]() 12/04/2017 at 18:43 |

Out of curiousity, what’s the discount on an old stock CB300F or CB500F (if you have any)?
![]() 12/04/2017 at 18:49 |
|
Philosophical question:
If a total n00b comes in wanting to buy a liter bike, will you sell it to them?
![]() 12/04/2017 at 18:57 |
|
I’ll have to see, but it probably wont be too much. lower end bikes are usually moved pretty easy
(btw, if you want a suzuki M50, I have a link on a very cheap one....like, 4000 for a 7000 bike)
![]() 12/04/2017 at 18:58 |
|
100% absolutely not.
I want ppl to come back and buy another bike. not buy one, crash it in 50 feet, and never have a customer again
![]() 12/04/2017 at 19:04 |
|
I figured as much but had to ask, being opportunistic as I like to be. The M50 is not my style of bike but thanks for offering.
![]() 12/04/2017 at 20:23 |

Start taking their Internet pictures for them or explain what image stabilization and focus means. Also “please call” means, “we are too embarrassed to admit we are asking too much for this bike or it’s shit, and the price will reflect that.”
Congratulations. When are you going back to school?
![]() 12/04/2017 at 20:27 |

So you worked at cycle gear lol.
![]() 12/04/2017 at 20:35 |
|
worse. cycle gear at least carried name brand products. this place stocked entirely on some brand called ‘streetz’ (its as bad as you’d imagine)
![]() 12/04/2017 at 20:36 |

need to figure out what I want to do first. might try army again (they rejected me once) but instead of engineering, maybe gunsmith or pilot

Hang in there. One day I figured out what I wanted to be. It was last year, and I’m too old to be a stripper, but at least I know now!
In the mean time, get that fat stack of selling cash!
![]() 12/04/2017 at 22:33 |
|
Sell me a fuckin’ BUSA
![]() 12/05/2017 at 07:18 |
|
LOL-wow. What are you gonna do for work next week? Go tell your sales manager that and see how long you last.
![]() 12/05/2017 at 11:45 |
|
I think it’s one of those scenarios that you can do correctly or not. Done right, you can sell a guy 2 or 3 bikes, going from a 300 to a 600 to a 1k. Done wrong, you can sell a guy 0 bikes, and he will go down the street where they will sell him what he wants without argument.
What about old-guy n00bs buying non-sport bikes? A Versys 1k is still ridiculously fast. A 900 lb full-dresser is a lot to handle as well.

He asked me that in the interview and i told him exactly that.
Turns out it was one of the things that lead to me over other candidates.

if you have the experiance, i’ll tell you sure.
if you dont, i’ll remnd you what the hell you are getting yourself into and then try to bring you down to a smaller bike
