I bought one. It’s not much, but it’s mine. Bought it for cheap-ish.
1969 Honda CD175. 8100 miles on the odometer.

...and then I started making a list of what it needs

Airbox

Side covers

chain cover

cam gear cover

Left rear signal

tail light

headlight and bezel

rear brake (it’s missing for some reason)

carb kit (although I haven’t taken the carb off to find out which it has if it’s original)

plugs and wires

petcock

and then I figure replace the clutch and brake cables, tires, chain, get the gas tank cleaned out etc. so there’s a lot to do.

Disassembly starts tomorrow. We’ll see what else is uncovered.

For what I paid it’s not too bad. And finding a small motorcycle has been difficult here.

Welcome to old bike ownership! You now have two paths you can choose; either spend a large fortune and restore that beauty to like new, or spend only a small fortune and cobble it together with the cheapest things you can find/make.

Really though that looks like a solid start for a small project.

I’m going somewhere in the middle. I’m only getting parts that fit it properly. However:

probably 12v conversion in the future
modern tires
better lights, maybe.

Hoping to not spend either a small or large fortune if I can help it.

YES! My XS650 was one of my favorite rebuilds, and bikes are so much easier/cheaper than cars.
