I got to hear him sing, “Back Home Again in Indiana” many times, an I am thankful for that. RIP.

I watched Gomer Pyle many times and I never thought he was dumb, only genuine. I liked Sgt. Carter’s character as well.

Worthy of note is how ethnically diverse that group of people is.

Awww really? I am from Oahu and he lives there, I met him a couple times and saw him many times. Very nice man indeed,

I would see him around Oahu, such a nice guy and always talked to people. He was gay, so diversity was probably important to him, he always went to the Honolulu Symphony dinner and sometimes sang. He was a great addition to the community there. This pic is near Kahala where he lived.

Are you one of the other blokes in the photo?

No, it’s a random fan pic I found, looks like several years ago. I might have a pic somewhere. I think the time I talked to him was pre cell phone selfie.

It was a long time coming, but it’s still sad to lose him. RIP Mr. Nabors.

Your military experience may help you sympathize with Sgt. Carter.

First time I ever heard sing I was floored. Never knew he was a singer/entertainer, and I was too young to watch his TV variety show. RIP. I watched Gomer Pyle and Andy Griffith all the time.

Perhaps. I hadn’t considered that.

I saw it earlier and thought to myself, “suprise! suprise! suprise!”
