Not really. It’s a fairly minor street crossing a VERY MAJOR street. For the traffic it gets it’s not worth the holdup.

And also extremely sad for both he people who gave him enough time for that and for the truckers who can’t seem to get rolling. I get it, they aren’t fast. It still shouldn’t take 2 minutes to get to highway speed.

It was a reference to anticipating the snap count on a blitz without getting caught offsides. Here’s an example, although the marked player is a safety, not a linebacker. Same principle.

That’s only surprising to me because of how minor the infraction is.

If he did it with a trailer, and stopped halfway through, put on his flashers, and walked to the nearest gas station for a sandwich, I would think, “yup, that’s a trucker.”

I’ve seen a lot of boneheaded moves from trucks, but rarely one where they’re putting their trust in outrunning potential problems. Pulling in front and causing everyone to lock up? Yup, I’m bigger than you, fuck you. Passing other trucks 10 minutes at a time? I’m more important than you, fuck you. Changing lanes when they want to instead of when it’s safe? Choo choo motherfucker, I’m bigger and I’m coming in. I’m going here because I’m faster than you? Never seen it as far as I can remember.

I generally try to avoid collisions with a truck, regardless of fault. Sir Isaac Newton doesn’t care that you had the right-of-way. Even at low speeds, that’s a lot of energy to absorb.

If he tried that with a trailer it’d be really slow to get rolling due to the weight of his massive balls.

But, yes, i understand caring for the equipment, etc. but there is no reason a tractor trailer can’t hit 45+ inside of 30 seconds, anywhere, anytime.

I drove a box truck for a while, a 4-speed (1st was a granny-gear, so 3 really) non-turbo Ford diesel that was as old as I was. It was never fast, but even with 14 yards of soil in the box I could get to 55 in around 30-40 seconds. Top speed was somewhere around 62. It just ran out of gear.
