Choose between these three Bimmer Manuéls: E39 Touring, X3, or a 550i.
That color. That ass.

That 550i really gives off a sort-of “Transporter” vibe.

MMMmmmmm, that F10—hands down, I don’t care how unreliable or shitty it is, but it’s my favorite modern Bimmer.

NP on the E39 but CP on the other two.
That X3 has to have the worst BMW interior I’ve ever seen.

The X3 is out instantly, due to being an X-BMW.
The 550i will be more powerful and more comfortable, but the 525it will be more practical and more fun and it looks far better too. It costs but a mere fraction of the 550i. So E39 525it it is.

I’ll take the 525iT. Nice color, nice wheels. And if I recall correctly, Consumer Reports actually recommended this generation of 5er when it was new/current.
The X3 is nice, but I don’t want a panoramic sunroof, and I’m not crazy about the taillight design pre-facelift.
The 2011 550i can burn.

The E39. While the 550i is cool and has to be rare with a stick, all the hot vee turbo bimmers make me nervous.
The X3 is interesting, but I’d rather a 6 speed X5.

Even I would drive the E39.
