Look, I don’t like SAC’s OR SUC’s (Sports Activity Coupes/Sport Utility Coupes) so lets get that right out there. I feel like its the kind of stupid hodgepodge you might find under a “custom” search parameter on craigslist, but somehow taken seriously as a fashion statement. Like some kind of high dollar AMC eagle experiment gone accidentally right for the company.
Thats pretty much it really. Just another jab at the SUC’s. I mean I know a crown vic can do part of this too (yes, I’ve seen the video...actually talked to the guy once) and I realize I’ve posted this before...even still, just sit back and be amazed and realize that its going to be a long time before a youtube search for “bmw hells revenge” reveals anything with 4 wheels.
I know there is someone here who is working on a beefed up X5 and bless you for your efforts sir, hope to see you on the trail someday.

Its odd isn’t it? how people want to feel tall and that made SUV worse off road because #marketing.
Its not like many of those have much better clearance than the sedan models (I mean, SUVs will never scrape but meh)

I don’t get the hate on the basis of capability. The cars aren’t made to go off-road, and people that buy them aren’t buying them for their off-road capabilities.
It’d be one thing if someone said “I bought this BMW X3 so my wife and I can go overlanding”, but literally no one has ever said that.
I don’t like them either but hey, if they make the car companies enough money to supply me with sports cars, it’s fine by me

But much of what makes them terrible at their job of being a car is based on the principles of their suv roots, of which they retain only the bad parts: size, higher cg, and a raised for for 4 wheel drive.
It’s like saying not to hate on high heels with deep lug treads because they aren’t good hiking boots... They are high heels, obviously, not hiking boots so you can’t expect them to be good hiking boots. Yeah but they aren’t good high heels either.
