With FCA next summer and it’s with their purchasing department. I have four years of experience actually purchasing already so hopefully getting the internship isn’t a problem.
It pays $20/hr and there is a housing stipend so I figured it might not be a bad way to spend the summer.

How far into your degree do you need to be, typically. Before you can get an internship? I’m pre-buisness right now, but would love to work a paid internship over the summer.

The application wanted you to be done with your sophomore year. I don’t know if that’s the standard or not, I was just BS-ing and looking for dream jobs when I saw an opportunity.

unsolicited advice - feel free to disregard
FCA is the worst to work for of the big 3, and generally pays the least. might want to check out Ford and GM’s postings too.

I am definitely going to. I also want to look at BMW, Volvo, MB, and VW. I was just researching and I found a posting that was right in line with my experience so I figured I’d jump on it. I’m also probably over qualified for most internships but, I’m back in college so I’ll take what I can get.

Hour-wise I’m a sophmore, so I’ll give it a shot this summer.

What’s your major? Or better question, what do you want to do?

Haven’t declared a major yet. But I’d be willing to do anything really.

I was going to mention that I Serg had sent me from Jalopnik but, I didn’t know how it’d go over..

FCA corporate is aware of kinja Sergio. I was informed they are not fans.

They do have a sense of humor (see SRT Demon) but, they do not appreciate Kinja shenanigans. Maybe I shouldn’t work for them. Is Oppositelock hiring?

Good luck! I never got anything back when I applied to GM for power train or BMW. (Internally screams while graduation is near)

I think that the Oppo mods can offer you an exciting internship with a fan belt stipend (you get paid in fan belts).

I second this, FCA is the sponsor of our senior design project and at no point during our interactions with them have I got the impression they’re anything but a mess of an organization. Case in point, they just now sent us an NDA after three months of working on the project because they forgot to tell their legal department we needed one.

I just cackled out loud, that is a total FCA move if there ever was one.

Apply regardless. Most companies want sophomores or juniors, but if you take some time to apply before then you never know what’ll happen. Worst case you get some practice filling out applications and creating resumes.

Ford? GM?
He wants to work for a company that makes cool cars.

It’s because they’re all sitting around reading Jellopicnic instead of sending out NDAs
