Fresh cracked pepper. Accept no substitute. The better the grinder, the
better the pepper.
#3 . Green Peppercorns in water. Great addition to slow cooked stews.
#2 . Red Peppercorns in water. Not as strong but sweeter than green. A substitute for capers. Perfect with lox on toast with red onions. Nom nom nom.

I used to think pepper sucked until I discovered whole peppercorns 3 decades into my existence.
P.S. I was just looking at that very bottle of Telicherry peppercorns at Costco less than an hour ago and thinking if I should buy it.

If you can find them...whole black pepper from Kampot in Cambodia...so much yes.
