“Honestly, the Racer mascot is at best silly, and at worst is a bit racist. It’s a white guy. We’re the UNOH white guys. It does nothing to represent the diversity that is now found on campus, and nothing to represent any of the athletics or study programs other than automotive.”

I took one look at that mascot and thought “They need to rename themselves ‘The Steves’ cause that looks lke that guy’s name. Steve. The UNOH Steves”

Granted, Ohio State rejected my suggestion to rename their mascot from the Buckeye to “The Ohio State Dancin’ Dumbass”. But look at it!

In general, overly human-based mascots are.....just a bad idea. Humans being a mascot for other humans is problematic in many, many respects.

....Also, fuck Ohio State and their god damn dancin dumbass of a mascot. Just want to punch that thing in the face.

I once explained to some older, grumpier members of my wife’s side of the family that I can understand how native Americans might not like the Washington Redskins name, because I certainly wouldn’t appreciate a team named the Washington Jew Bankers and the people defending its name telling me, “BUT THE NAME HONORS JEWS BECAUSE THEY’RE GOOD WITH MONEY!”
