My wife went to a movie night with her friends. I decided to watch Dirty Harry again. I love it, she doesn’t really care for it. It has my favorite movie line ever in it. No, it’s not the one you’re thinking of.
Mayor: “I don’t want any trouble like you had in the Fillmore District last year. Understand? That’s my policy.”
Inspector Callahan: “When a man is chasing a woman, with intent to rape, I shoot the bastard. That’s my policy.”
Mayor: “Intent? How did you establish intent?”
Inspector Callahan: “Well, when a naked is chasing a woman through an alley with a butcher knife and a hard-on, I figure he’s not out collecting for the Red Cross.”
What’s Oppo’s favorite movie line?

I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody’s part. And we’re just the guys to do it!
I may or may not have quoted this line in an email yesterday...

Oh, I could never pick just one. But since you brought up Harry, I gotta say that “ a man’s got to know his limitations ” comes to mind often when I’m wrenching. There are some tasks that are really better left to a shop, and it’s good to anticipate those times before you go tearing the car all apart.

Tarantino movies are full of great quotes. Hard to choose between them all—

I use that one all the time. That line is from Magnum Force.
Now I need to watch Magnum Force again.
Inevitably that will lead me to watching The Enforcer.
It will end there though. Sudden Impact sucks. I did always enjoy the RC Corvettes in Dead Pool though.

He won it, by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country.

Urambo picked it too, but he hedged and it really is my single favorite movie line (albeit not my favorite movie): “a man’s got to know his limitations.”

In Tombstone, Wyatt Earp (Kurt Russell) walks into the Oriental Hotel and talks to the bartender, who tells him this asshole has set up shop as his card dealer and is driving off all the good gamblers. Wyatt confronts the dealer, Johnny Tyler (Billy Bob Thornton) and after some words are exchanged, Wyatt backhands Tyler in the mouth. He smacks him two more times until Tyler is bleeding from the mouth, but isn’t doing anything about it. And Wyatt growls:
“You gonna do something, or just stand there and bleed?”
Val Kilmer’s Doc Holliday gets all the fan fare, but holy shit was Kurt Russell awesome in that movie.
Oh, and a really dumb corny one from the Tom Jane Punisher movie:
Joan: What are you going to do?
Frank Castle: Read the news paper, you’ll see.
Joan: What section?
Frank: *long pause* ...obituaries.

i like the whole spiel about “for no reason”......
also large chunks of little big man, like where hes talking to general custer, telling him those braves waiting for him arent a bunch of women and children like the ones that he butchered..... “i call this my gunfighter phase”......
