The G-Wagen was the only new Mercedes not to be plagued by the melty terribleness. It did not deserve this.
The 760HP Ares G-Wagen.
Hideous.

Looks like a lifted renegade

I actually kinda like it. At least it looks like it was made in this century.

It’s like a large raccoon.

I bet the “official” new G Wagen will be much, much worse. Not to mention the crossover look alike that people are saying will launch soon. That one will be truly horrific.

It looks like it’s in pain.

I like it and can’t wait for the 6x6 version!
I do hate the mounted spare. Rear visibility was always an issue, but the tire makes the rear window pointless.
Also, white is not a good color for this.
And it’s not a gaudy Brabus.
*j/k on 6x6

Gross.
I would have guessed it was a Chinese knockoff.

You scared me. Thankfully just an aftermarket body kit!

I prefer the regular G, but I don’t hate this.

I agree. It’s hideous.

I don’t hate the front. The back is problematic

Echoing a couple of other comments, I thought for sure I was going to be reading about a Chinese company named Ares that created a G-wagen copy.
There’s a lot of hate for it here, but to be honest, I’m indifferent. If anything, I find that it takes away from the unmistakable character (i.e. straight, boxy lines) of the original.

I like it.
I read a few years ago that Mercedes was flirting with the idea of giving the G a little nip/tuck. I’m sure this is the direction they’d intend to go, but not nearly as much as this.

Actually kind of like this. Makes it look much more modern. The back does look a bit goofy though. The real question is whether is makes the G less of a brick/more aerodynamic to drive.

The next G is almost identical looks wise to the current one. No need to mess with a successful design
