Sometimes I get the irrational want to build myself an awesome computer (did this once with a friend)
Then I remember, I don’t even use my laptop at home

I find that when I’m in possession of an awesome computer, I use the computer more. I need to build my own PC after having fun with Miss Tesla and I’s shared gaming PC (she rightfully has it nowadays). My rig would be optimized for GTA and/or Flight Simulator X.

I stopped pc gaming years ago, I always managed to make games crash after modding them just a little bit too much. I’m on PS4 now, at least I can’t break anything ^^

It’s amazing how expensive ram is these days. I recently upgraded my main/gaming desktop to 16GB. I ended buy a cheap used system that happened to have 16GB in it, it didn’t cost me that much more. Haha.

2x 8gig sodimm sticks cost me $99 :(
The two 4gig sticks I took out are still perfectly fine so I’m gonna try to sell them.

Yeah, that’ll help with the cost. And 16 is definitely the new 8.
I bought an i5-3550/2TB/16GB Dell Optiplex for $200 on ebay. I put the memory in my gaming computer and took the memory from my gaming computer and put it in the optiplex, result: excellent HTPC for essentially ~$100. (minus the hundred I would’ve spent on memory anyway)
