So, i’m going up to thunder bay next week. but Lexus needs tires. BADLY. the winters I have for it are shot.

Mission: winter tires by thursday, Nov 9th

size: 225/45/17. I have stock wheels that just need tires. not buying ANOTHER set of rims for it (already have 2 set)

I was looking at continental winter contact SI on candian tire for $159 each on candian tire. one of them near by has 4. I could swing by, grab them, and have my guy do the swap day before I leave.

any other ideas?

That’s what I did this year. Slightly different size, but they’re much cheaper than the others and seem to review really well.

I really loved the Hankook iPikes.

If you can get them, Blizzak WS80's are an excellent winter tire. We’ve got them on my wife’s Exporer and I’m running them on my car too. I may not be Canadian, but we get boatloads of snow. Pictured below is what my road typically looks like from late November until April.

I don’t know about their snow tires but I loved my continental all seasons on my g35. Good dry/wet grip for Seattle.

I have a set of nearly new Michelin Pilot A/S3s in that size if you’re feeling adventurous. :P

I was thinking of going to 18s for next years summers...but that MIGHT sway me to at least try them.

They’re great tires. I’m probably going to replace the summer tires on my WRX with a set of these when I’m done with the stock tires.

The ones I have will be too small for my purposes but they’ve only got 14000km on them (including a few autocross events, but they’ve got a 500 treadwear rating so you can hardly tell). I’d probably let them go for $400 so if you’re interested when spring comes around, let me know.
