Colorado has this law and has for a while. It is frequently ignored and rarely enforced. I hope Oklahoma does better with it.
Also, it’s already a law in Florida (I haven’t been there since 2011): http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/traffic/os-florida-slow-drivers-left-lane-warning-story.html

Florida has the slow person law, not “Do not Drive” in Left Lane Law. Everyone is slow in Florida...so it does nothing.

Let’s go one step further and make Florida a state where you have to drive on the left side of the road.

“So... that means keep driving in the left lane, then?” -95% of Michigan drivers

Utah has a left lane law, every now and again they do some token enforcement but its widely ignored. Laws like this are hard to enforce enough to make a difference.

Florida’s law is “Slower Traffic Keep Right” rather than, say, Kentucky’s “Keep Right Except To Pass”.

Just pass everyone!

I am good with this. I will be in the Right Lane passing everyone if you need me...much like I did on my drive to Orlando this past weekend.

It’s not hard to enforce on long, open stretches of interstate. I’m hoping they enforce it fairly strongly - a decent number of warnings in these first weeks to help get the word out, and then, very little mercy.

Oh I mean go full England/Australia/Japan. Really throw them for a loop.

you can have all the laws you want, but will it be enforced?
![]() 11/03/2017 at 07:41 |

This one could be easily enforced since no one in Florida drives in the right lane.

No, it is different. This other law states you can ONLY be in the left hand lane for passing. Where as the FL law wants you to not impede traffic.

Oh damn, that’s pretty great. So basically they’re making it like Germany.

Essentially like most of Europe. But if that was the case that’d mean that the middle lane is for cruising and Right and Left lanes are for passing and exiting the motorway.
