When you got a goofy, big ass grin you might as well run with it! Orange Evora is my present car and the red Elise is my sold car (take a 700 mile roadtrip in one and you’ll be amazed at how easy it is to put it up for sale). {Edit} Damn, looking at pictures of the Elise makes me miss it so much, I’m seriously getting sad now.

Other pics are from a Lotus Facebook group I’m in.

The little Elise looks like a very dangerous little spider with the teeth.

I would definitely rock this year round:

Maybe curve the fangs a bit and it would look mean as hell.

I daily drove it for about 6 months then had it and a classic mini which I probably drove more. It’s an incredible car and anyone that can afford an extra $25-30k car should own one. You won’t lose money on it. In fact I bought mine for 24.5 and sold for 27.5. You can’t go wrong.

That being said. It’s a piece of shit for ride quality.

What’s the issue with road-tripping an Elise? Ride quality? Creature comforts? No space? All of that?

I don’t want two cars. I want one fun car I can road trip. But I also want an Elise :(

You get rattled to death. Seats are not comfortable and you feel every crack or pebble on the road, which is fun for a while, but not for too long.

Plenty of space actually. My AC worked great and my radio was good, so didn’t need any more creature comforts than that. I took it 700 miles away for a 4 day trip with my dog in the passenger seat, so it’s definitely doable, but bring some ibuprofen for your back.

I don’t need more than that either. But that suspension+seat :( I want to enjoy the road trip.

I think somewhere between that level of stiffness and regular-car-softness is the sweet spot

(I think it’s my current car but I’m obviously biased)

My MR2 does an alright job, and it’s cheaper than a bloody Evora ;)
