The new contender and the newest most probable option is the new 3008. Because seat massagers, TFT screen and dat interior.
Power comes from a 1.6T pooping out 165HP

That’s cool! Slow, but cool!

A looker for sure but that tiny steering wheel is weird.

The steering wheel is like a puzzle! That is one busy front end. I take back everything I’ve said about Honda. Not really.
The “Generic American” answer to replacing a Tribeca is “I think I remember the Tribeca...maybe” followed by “Nissan Rogue” (or Qqqquuaasssshkaaiiii, Triple Word Score, as I think it’s known over there).

Peugeot’s iCockpit thing, small steering wheel for more maneuverability and better control and no interference between the wheel and the gauges.

Very slow! It’s as fast as the V6 BIG Suvs I was considering. But hey, a 9 second 0-60 in a large car isn’t all that turrible

We never got the Qashkiwi here, just the very hip and youthful Nissan Kicks. A vehicle I really despise.

Ohhh, heyyyy...look...it has a blacked-out D-pillar, that’s original, wowwwwwww. “Nissan: We put the ZZZ in everything we do” ;)
My parents have a Q5 and love it, but I find it a bit cramped for its size. They spent a couple weeks in Europe last month and were shocked to see how popular it was, given the relatively large size and high price.
This might sound crazy, but the new Tiguan? I believe that’s a “world car” but I could be wrong. A small third row for the occasional passenger-hauling duties. Plenty of service infrastructure (everywhere except America, anyway).

That is horrible. zOMG - what’s wrong with a CRV? Does Citroen have something less silly?

I think this is the best competitor:
A weird Minivan thing.

That’s what the catalogue says but the reality is a bit different. Maybe it’s executed better than with the 308 I’ve sat in.

That orange is bananas.
Oddly, if the whole car were metallic orange, I’d like it better.

That is weird. Maybe one of the last Tribecas made? Did you like it?
And funny, the first Tribeca I ever saw, in late 2005 I think, was in Tribeca (Triangle Below Canal Street for you country folk).

I still have my 2011 Tribeca, great car, but it is getting a bit tired and thirsty.

Have you actually driven that 308? For more than a few minutes? If you adjust the seat and wheel correctly (like in any car really) the little steering wheel becomes second nature. You do need a few minutes to get used to it though.

Just sitting but it felt different. The ui idea is brilliant though, I can’t even fully read the dials in some cars.

If I were to consider a recent crossover it certainly would be in the top of my list. And if you need more space, there’s always the 5008.
I’d personally would always pick the wagon over the crossover alternative though.

Well, I already have the Passat Variant.
And this is the only “Premium” Peugeot we get here in the South of the Americas.
The outdated, old and built here 408 and 308.
And the new 208, 2008(?) and 3008.

Wt the hell is a 408? Off to google! (and my daily driver is a 406...).
Google tells me the 408 is some kind of 308 for emerging markets. I had never heard of ‘premium’ Peugeot either, but I guess that just means Peugeots not initially designed for emerging markets?
Weird that you don’t get the 508 and 5008. Especially the 5008 is just mostly a 3008 but larger.

Chrysler Pacifica (intro’d around same time) and Tribeca both criticized for excess weight/thirst. Highlander? RAV4? CRV? MDX? (or equivalent). And yeah - that Citroen is unfortunate.

These are all too boring to be honest. I despise plasticky uninspired cars.
Compare these interiors:
RAV4
3008

Yeah, but you’re not buying a sports car, you’re buying sensible. The Peugeot would make me dizzy, but that’s just me. Also, which holds its value better? Or is it a tossup?

Probably the Toyota but then again, it was introduced 5 years and only suffered a minor facelift, I guess at some point in the next few years they will introduce a new one.
The Pug is a new design and won European Car of the Year for 2017.

Given these are only 2WD (well they are in Oz) then I’d be looking at a proper wagon instead like a 308...no matter how good the 3008 looks. Or a CX-5 or a Tiguan

Nah, this is on Peugeots new platform.
The Outlander from Peugeot is the old (scary) 4007 that disappeared in 2012.

Yeah, that works better than silver, gray, or black. Wagon, brown, no manual, (diesel?) but you can’t be picky in that vehicle class.
