Apart from Rory Reid, he was way too loud and brash for my tastes. He is sort of like Hammond, and Hammond is my least favorite of Top Gear presenters. I feel like he, Rory, got way too excited about everything.

I’m fine with being excited except when it’s clearly fake.

Maybe that’s what it is, he tries to put extra emotion into everything. If he didn’t do that, I would like him so much more as a presenter. If he dialed it down just a little, this threesome would be so good.

Those two have similar back stories now that I think about it. Both grew up watching Top Gear albeit different versions. Both started out doing a bargain basement car show (Men & Motors for Hammond and Recombu for Reid) and then both ended up on Top Gear. That said I never took to Hammond but I really like Rory.

I didn’t know that. It’s interesting that with similar backgrounds that act somewhat similar. I had a hard time picking out what I didn’t like about Rory, but once I realized it was the over-enthusiasm, it made sense. I disliked Hammond for the exact same thing. Hammond made up for a lot by liking BMWs thought. If Rory was a massive BMW person, I think I could forgive him.

Hmmm, that might change my perception of him. If he drove an E9X, he would immediately become my favorite TG presenter.

Does this help? It’s not a BMW, but it is the best car review ever
