This was taken at an autocross in Albuquerque back in 1996ish not long after my Dad purchased the car from my Aunt. It probably had around 75k on the odometer at the time. The race tires (BFG R1's, the old school ones that Kumho copied for thier later victoracer, as opposed to the current tire BFG calls the R1) were mounted on a set of factory white wheels from a prelude. All numbers and such were magnetic.

Then I had to go make it a real racecar. It does only have 132k on it, which probably makes it one of the lower mileage g1tegs around. To be fair, the last few thousand miles have been a bit harder than average use.

You also end up with a large file when a 29 year old car stays in the same family and every document from the original window sticker is kept.

Mmm, white 3rd gen wheels. I have a set but the tires are trash so I never use them.

It ran those wheels for autocross for a few years until we came across some funky looking, but 9lbs/wheel, 14x5.5 in the right bolt pattern and a workable offset. They were allegedly off of some European Chrysler, but I never figured out which one. They were similar to above.

The CRX phone dials are the only 14" wheels I have left for the car. By the time I was developing it into an IT car in 2003, suitable 14x7 and race tires in a 225 cross section and 14" diameter were becoming really hard to find. I can’t imagine they really exist anymore. I moved up to a 15X7, which offers tons of good choices for wheels and sticky rubber.

Yeah, 14s in general are becoming hard to shop for. If I ever get my 3rd gen going again, my tire selection for it would be limited. Parts for them are limited in general, which is why it’s been sitting for a year.

I have to look around the house and try to find a picture of my dad’s ‘89 Integra before it got traded for the Beetle in 1999. Ours was the exact same color too.

Takes me back...way back.
