With so many now being diagnosed as coeliac or developing a gluten intolerance, I thought I’d give Gluten Free Old Speckled Hen a try to see if it’s any different to the regular Old Speckled Hen.
To be honest there is very little in it.
The regular smells more ‘hoppy’.
The gluten free has a slightly more citrusy taste to it.

Vodka is gluten free. Why not drink a couple bottles of that and report back?

Tons of vodka is brewed with wheat not potatoes. I drink straight bourbon whiskey since it is brewed with corn.

So drink 1 bottle of vodka made with wheat, and 1 bottle brewed with potatoes. Although that doesn’t change the fact that gluten isn’t in any vodka (or any distilled spirit) whatsoever unless it was added after distillation.

If the distillation is poor there will be trace amounts of gluten in things. The rule I’ve heard is you need to distill something 3 times before the gluten is gone. I’ll just stick to potato vodka when I do drink vodka.

While you’re better off not drinking vodka, it’s not because of gluten.
