I got signed up last minute to be a trunk at my church’s Trunk or Treat tomorrow. I’m most likely taking the Tundra, but may end up in the Sienna or the firebird. I need some theme ideas...

One of the churches by us does that. We’ve talked about taking our Mini. Make the trunk a mouth and the kids can reach in.

How can you not be thinking of taking the Firebird and having a dead body in the trunk?

Also, we are signed up to do it with our Sedona. Problem is, we never win because my sense of macabre humor is, shall we say, esoteric.

I like the idea of not actually showing a scary character, but instead having all the props needed for horror. For example, have a tricycle (like the one in Saw), a bloody machete and chainsaw in parts, a couple of rags or blankets, some dirty and bloody, some new and folded. Some plastic bags, rope, duct tape and a chair with leather straps, rubber gloves, etc... I dunno, maybe that could converse the feeling of dread as the perpetrator is not here to be seen.
Then have a tiny but noticeable sign which you have to lean in very close to read which says Look behind you, or something like that.

This a church event with children, for goodness sake!
