Those rims are amazing.

$800? If this is in half as good shape cosmetically as it appears in the picture this is well worth it.
Plus it has the same engine as the Chevy LUV.

This is, quite literally, an impulse buy.

I’m assuming that this one is the US spec since it is Alanta and those look like they all came with the G200Z engine.

being LHD and an Isuzu, i guess so

I also think these were Isuzu Piazzas everywhere else.

I would, buy I promised to cut back on impulse buys.

No thanks... don’t want another Chevette... even if it’s a Japanese-made Chevette...

Can you say LS swap?
![]() 10/27/2017 at 11:22 |

Does that mean we can drop in the Luv diesel?

That looks fantastic! I really like the funky rims too. If the interior is intact let alone like new that’d be a great buy.

With enough time and money anything is possible.

Naturally, I was just hopeful that there was a chance they used the same motor mounts as opposed to needing a large hammer and torch.

It is entirely possible. I’d never heard of the diesel luv until today. All I know about these motors I googled today haha.

A buddy of mine had a diesel Luv in HS. I helped him build a wooden flatbed for it after the original bed had rusted so badly that one of the sides actually fell off when he crossed a set of railroad tracks to quickly.
It was painfully slow but it got great fuel mileage.

My dad had this yellow chevy luv that just kinda rotted in our yard. I loved playing in that truck as a boy. It was just my size!

It looks like it would be a direct bolt in. You would need different motor mounts, but they bolt to the same location. The bell housing on the transmission is the same.
I found a forum post for someone that was swapping the motor from a wrecked Impulse into his Luv with a blown diesel. Unless there are good clearance issues should be able to do the reverse and build a diesel Impulse. If there are clearance issues you get a bolt on scoop from JC Whitney and grab the sawzall.

I really can’t imagine why’d you do that to this car.

This one would be too nice to cut up, but I have a strange love for cars with oddball swaps so it just got my brain going.
