I’m surprised it didn’t run out of fuel first

This was before they switched over to metric, so they had enough fuel. Also, turns out it doesn’t take a lot of gas to keep yourself moving once you get into space and have your orbit set.

As an american, I would like the metric system to please finally takeover. Seriously who the fuck wants to use “slugs” 32.17lbs or whatever it is and a measurement of length based on some dead guys foot.

Air Canada is familiar with running out of fuel. Remember the Gimli Glider?

Before 1992: Canada bad
1992: Ottawa Senators are reformed
1992 - Present: Canada good

The metric system is possibly even more insane than Imperial. The only thing they did right was using powers of ten for increments instead of the random mess that is Imperial.
I still wish they would have been more practical in a number of places. It’s depressing that “meter” is now reserved for this ghastly system.

Metric insane? Yeah totally insane and dumb. Let me make a measurement system only using potatoes and the mass of John Wayne. /S
