The BMW 760 Li V12 had the coolest feature of the entire Tokyo Motorshow...

This is worse than even an Infotainment system embedded in the dash. The development cycle on tablets is so short that this thing wouldn’t be obsolete before the car is delivered.

It had its own BMW based android version on it... I think it’s not made to play around or use as a tablet per se, it’s probably there just to control some options of the car.

I would argue the coolest feature on a BMW 760 Li V12... would be a V12, but that’s just me

Meh... Put that V12 in an E46 M3 with a manual then we’ll talk :)

Meanwhile I’ll prefer sticking to the back seats of this thing...

In that case, why is it removable?

Because cool useless gadget? Maybe to setup a playlist of music more comfortably? Setting up a route for your driver? Reading emails? I still own my 2013 Nexus 7 and it’s still perfectly adapted for daily use. No need for something insanely powerful to control the car’s climate, read email and set up the music...

The thing has a V12. I’d never go near the backseat.

Although it’ll suck when the car’s remote control is stuck on Android 5.0 (you know with the design cycles it’s not 8.0), and gets pwned over wifi, by someone driving alongside the car on the freeway.

Give it one more generation and it’ll be a TT I-4 just like the rest.

Yeah but only hardware I think... It’s a BMW thing otherwise...

This will be cute quaint tech in 10 years (if it still works, which is doubtful - or the tablet is simply “missing”),

Will it keep working out of warranty? :)

I’ve had the same concern about retracting Audi screens. But as I don’t plan to buy one of those or this limo, I suppose I am not the target.
