A few years ago, I saw a guy with a homemade wooden version of this. It would make air show photography considerably easier, especially with panning. However, I think I might get hassled by the cops if I’m using it at the airport.

Actually, it looks more like a 70-200mm.

I did a double take because it looked like a bump stock or something. Yeah, might wanna make sure you check up with the security personnel first. :)

It’s a stock from an AR-15 (I think, not a gun guy). It definitely looks all commando and s**t. They do make ones that aren’t all mil-spec, but I’m guessing they aren’t cheap.

And still look kind of ominous in today’s touchy climate.

No sorry but it was just two pieces of 2x4 screwed together in an L shape. Longer portion is the bottom and a bolt runs through it and acts as the camera mount. Shorter side faces back and you bolt the stock to that. He used a cheap airsoft stock.

lenses are pretty heavy, I think you should extend a counterweight over your shoulder.

What’s your skin tone? Seems like a good way to get shot depending on where you live.

I wasn’t joking. A young black man was shot around here for cosplaying with a fake samurai sword.
That thing above would be seriously stupid for a non white person to use.

The concept of making my already huge SLR even bigger is not very appealing.

Yeah theres the G-47, the G-16, the G1 Abrams, the G240B, and the G-au 8. After a bit of research I think it is a G-IM 92 Stinger.

Omg are they attachments available that would make it automatically take several pictures in a row? Perhaps even without altering the camera itself?
