Really great! It’ll be two years next month, in which I’ve put 13k miles on the car (short commute). Might be time for new brakes and compliance bushings in the spring.

Thinking about FINALLY actually getting one myself... worried I won’t like it since I’m so used to the torque of my 335i, but still excited at the prospect nonetheless.

See if you can find one to test-drive. I had driven a bunch of stuff before the S, and nothing had the same impact of my first test-drive. I was coming from a Mk4 Jetta with the turbo engine; not exactly a torque monster, but a very different powerband profile to the S2000. I was prepared to find the car overhyped, but IMO it lives up to its reputation. My goal was to find something that would be both exciting and capable without significant mods.
If those torquier engines feel like a rocket, the S feels more like a bird. It’s very eager to deliver power corner-to-corner. Accelerating from a stop will not put hair on your chest. You will need to drop down a few gears to do big accelerations, but it does feel natural to drive it that way.
If I were looking today, I’d check out the Fiat 124 also. It’s kind of homely, but I like the look better than the Miata, and Grassroots prefers the Fiat engine.
