Seems like they’re coming down in price recently. Problem is finding one, but if I were in the market for something like this I would be willing to drive to get a clean one.

Kinja'd!!!

Heres a dirt cheap example with a stick. Needs some TLC but still a NP.

I think Dusty bought one fairly recently. I’m pretty sure someone picked a black one up last winterish.

Im not in much of a subaru market so I wonder if they picked theirs up for cheap. I know out in colorado and oregon they run a hell of a premium.

I got the slightly taller Outback version during the 2014 holiday season

I’ve briefly thought about getting a 3.6 Legacy in the past and putting an exhaust on it so it sounds like a 911.

It’s even harder to find one than you think. You don’t want an 05 or 06 because those models had a cat in the up pipe before the turbo and had a history of the cat disintegrating into the turbo, with predictable results. So that leaves you with just the 2007 model (or 07-09 if you’re willing to look at the Outback version as well). If you want an aux jack and/or the ability to add bluetooth to your radio than your only option is the 08/09 Outback XT. There’s only about 4,000 of those, with only 1,000 of them being manual.

This was my struggle a few years back. Was lucky to find one on ebay just an hour south of me.

Looks like there is a Grom adapter that will fit them for bluetooth/aux?

Kind of pricey but well worth it if you are driving a older car and don’t want to replace the head unit.

Edit: Nevermind I see that only works with some of them.

I got one of those Bluetooth FM transmitters. Can grab it off Amazon for cheap and it’s easily portable :)

We looked for one, but finding a clean one was NOT easy. We did find a clean one that had a built shortblock that was ready for massive boost, but the pile of parts in the back said “pass”

Yep, that’s the one I got. Actually looking again it’s 2007 where it started working with US Legacy/Outback models, not 2008.

The problem with the bluetooth transmitters is they still have to rely on your phone’s mic when making calls, so you can’t have your phone, say, in your pocket or the person on the other end won’t be able to hear you very well. A proper bluetooth unit like a Grom comes with a mic which you can place wherever you choose (mine is in the top left corner of the windshield), so it doesn’t matter where my phone is.

Done! ...and sold 2 years ago, I miss it! Was an excellent car, just didn’t need it back then. Still amazed by how timeless it looks, especially that interior (given what Subaru interiors are famous for looking like).

Yeah that gen legacy had a really clean and nice looking interior. Its strange how they cant seem to match it in the impreza.

Better for sure, but I think the legacy wagons are a bit bigger for if you wanted to haul stuff. Not that the saabaru is small either though

Considering how much I regularly cram into my Miata, this thing is like a mini van! I’ve once called an FRS a mini van just because of how much space there was lol.
