With options, you can easily hit $100k. I’m honestly curious as to how many of these are going to be sold. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , with no numbers on how many were Quadrofoglio models. If anyone on here has or had enough money for one, would you buy one over the competition?

What’s that, like $30k USD?

Have considered it, really have. I feel the car is worth the asking price. I’m curious to see what reliability looks like in three years.

That’s what it would always come back to for me: would it be worth it to buy a brand new car that I would constantly have to worry about breaking? Because the number of reviewers who have experienced breakdowns is not exactly reassuring.

That’s my exact dilemma right there. I don’t like the F80 M3 very much, so the Alfa has far more appeal to me. However, reliability is an understandable concern when you’re making payments.

If it shows reliable in a few years, I’ll gladly nab one as part of a CPO.

Why not the 340i? I’ve read some reviews of the M3 that make it sound unbearable in terms of livability because it’s a “serious race car” or something, so the 340i sounds like a swell place to be.

But I guess we’ll see with the Alfa. Maybe the second or third year of production will have the kinks sorted out. Or not. Who knows.

I absolutely would buy one, don’t consider anything else in the segment interesting really. But I own a bunch of broken down Alfas already, so I may be a bit too biased for my opinion to really matter.

I’m not a fan of the newer styling. I drove the new M3 and honestly wasn’t all that blown away. I actually wrote a piece for another website comparing it to the Focus RS, and the Focus RS took the W. I received death threats shortly thereafter.

I would provably do it. It’s best in class in a lot of ways and the M3 isn’t what it used to be.

The internet is filled with jerkholes. I’d probably take an RS over an M3.

But RS3.

I’ll at least look at it. I hear great things about it, and love the styling.

Part of me hopes I don’t like it, because the reliability scares me.

I have a feeling these will be dirt cheap in 2-3 years. They’re moving very slowly in the US, it seems. I’m in the Chicago area, and rarely see any Giulia on the road, though there are at least 3 I see parked in driveways in my town and the next one over.

My whole point was that the RS kind of uses the old M3 formula of “a really responsive chassis” and less power. I was truly moved by the RS. I really enjoyed my time with the car.

I’ve seen one Giulia so far in Saskatoon. It’s pretty slow selling here.

It’s odd to consider the idea that 350 horsepower is “less power”, isn’t it? Sounds like an excellent car.

One other thing that annoys me is that Alfa doesn’t have a competitor to the 340i.

My budget in the spring probably won’t get me in a QF unless the discounts get huge, but I could theoretically spend more than the base Giulia. How about a 350 Hp Giulia? ?

But I also think that a 3 pedal version would have helped them stand out. Even at low volume.

I know right? Power has gotten crazy these days.

It truly is an incredible car. My best buddy that purchased a 17 SCAT PAK Challenger 6MT was looking at an RS when he bought that. Ironically mark up made the RS significantly pricier so he bought the Dodge. He called me and told me how good the RS was.

I called my local Ford dealer and was honest with them and told them more or less I wouldn’t be buying but wanted to drive it for a review. They told me if I name dropped them in my article they’d let me drive it, so I did.

By the end of the drive, I had considered buying it LOL

I’ve seen five or six of them running around Phoenix/Scottsdale area. Good looking cars.

That’s why I think it was smart of Mercedes to go with the -43 models. It gives them a good mid-high pack punch without blowing all your money on a -63.

Hm, that’s an interesting cross-shop. Seem like two totally different driving experiences. But that’s a pretty resounding review if you were willing to buy one after one test drive.

I would lease one if I had a dealership that was local. I expect a few problems so having to take it 2 hours for service is not realistic.

I would certainly consider one. It looks better than the competition and it comes from a more appealing brand. It’s said to drive better as well.

You know what, if I was looking at getting a fast 4 door I would really struggle getting this over the SS. Yeah the Quadrifoglio is a car I lust after and really want, but I could buy a Chevy SS, make it a Holden Commodore, give it 1000 hp, and still have money left over.

I love the idea of the RS3 but it’s too expensive and the Gulia is kind of in another class.

Yes, the 340, e43, s4 range is the sweet spot to me. The base Giulia is a tweener - more than the 4 cylinder Germans but less than the 6s.
