Also, show me a better knot than a taut line hitch! I’ll wait.
As you can see, I took of the calipers, e-brake cable, and wheel speed sensor. So tomorrow all I’ve gotta do is undo the half dozen bolts holding the trailing arm in place and take it to the shop.
The scary thing is. Nothing completely unnecessarily difficult has happened yet, so I’m preparing for the worst tomorrow.

Baling wire is really good for holding calipers out of the way too.

Clove Hitch. All good lashings begin with this.

It’ll get stolen before it hits the ground.

True, but unless your a pioneer on the prairie; how often do you need to make lashings?
Taut line: 2
Other knots/hitches: 0

This looks like a two half hitch to me...

I think that’s just a different name for it. You do it just like a half hitch. But you loop it around the inside twice.

Two half is slightly different than taut line, with only one loop on the inside(what you call a half hitch). Thought I only saw one loop on the inside in the pic but you clearly know what you’re talking about so guess I’m the stupid one.

Naw you’re right. The two on the caliper are half hitches, but I tied them to the spring with taunt lines.

So I’m not crazy. That makes me feel better.
