It’s fall in Texas and that means the tarantulas are getting more active. Saw three while walking the dogs yesterday. I made a slow mo video. Also, anyone else not seeing notifications on mobile? They are there if I touch the menu but the little bubble isn’t lighting up when the page loads.

Sorry about the heebeegeebees. We’ve gotten rather used to our furry 8-legged neighbors. Good to hear on the notifications. Sounds like Kinja-wide issue. They must have added a feature that broke other ones. I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t something with my phone only.

Me too on the notifications.
Damn and I thought my Spider find was big. But Texas vs Michigan so....

I have less problems with spotting/looking at a tarantula versus whatever the f*ck kind of spiders they have down under. Maybe its the furr.

We have those things down here too. Honestly they freak me out more than the tarantulas even if they aren’t as big.

I hear ya. I’m nota big spider fan but it stayed in the flower bed so I think we came to an understanding. Now I’m keeping an eye on its egg sack which creeps me out but intrigues me too.

Spider is part of nature. Nature is humanity’s oldest enemy. Therefore kill spider.

It’s an orb weaver. She will eat insects by the thousand and never trouble you at all, even if you walk right into her web (a thing I have a done a hundred times). I HATE spiders at the deepest lizard-brain level, and kill indoor spiders on sight, but even I leave these ladies be, unless a web blocks the gate or something.

Thanks good to know. We’ve got a ton of wolf spiders but this is the first I’ve seen these here. I hear ya on spiders but she stayed in her web and was busy all the time eating. Actually looking forward to more.

Well sorry, then you probably don’t want to see this then.
That’s a 2x6 board.
