If your radio presets are not in numerical order by frequency from low to high, you’re doing it wrong.

Kinja'd!!!

You probably also leave time on the microwave when you’re done, you monster.

Counterpoint: WRONG

I order them by stations ranked in terms of what I want to hear. If someone else in the car doesn’t like it, they can jump out because it’s my car so DON’T PUSH MAH BUTTONS

Logic dictates it be in order of importance. I had my NPR presets as 1 and 2, my FM transmitter as 3, and the rest as classic rock/80's stations.

Kinja'd!!! MonkeePuzzle > fhrblig
10/20/2017 at 12:43

Kinja'd!!!1

ok, they are, sorta. but I divide by class first.

FM1 presets are rock/pop, ordered 1-6 by lowest freq to highest

FM2 is other non-rock/pop, ordered by genre, about 2 stations per genre, so 1 and 2 are in freq order, and 3 and 4, and 5 and 6, but 1-6 arent

FM3 is mostly talk, and its 1-6 freq order.

I never leave time on a microwave, even if I stop it early. so only HALF monster :D

This is a true statement.

Also a true statement: You should have the option to have AM and FM stations on the same preset list.

The station i listen to the most is mumber 1 on my presets

And when a song i don’t like comes up i go to station 2

I have zero radio presets in my car because I haven’t listened to the radio in years.

One nice thing about iDrive is the 6 preset buttons on the dash can also be assigned functions other than radio stations. I have the first 3 set to:

1. Toggle day & night mode for navigation

2. Toggle split screen

3. Turn the screen off

For Sirius, first band is music but all from low channel to high. Second band is NFL radio and all the comedy channels but all in numerical order. It ends up all being in order from low to high anyway.

Except band 3. I let my partner program the stations for that one and it’s utter chaos. I never go to band 3.

My Ranchero was low option. Crowd: “How low option was it?” It was so low-option that it had a horn *button* and not a ring. The only other pictures I can find online of a roundbody Falcon with a button and not a ring are - get this - another Ranchero and one with a custom wheel. That’s “I didn’t even know that was an option” level option-removal.

I am also unconvinced that it ever had carpets. The only upgrades (if you’d call them that) were special order fleet color interior/exterior and a 4.10 rear end.

It’s entirely possible that a huge number more Rancheros were sold with the button than actual Falcons proper, since for the first few years they were 5-10 percent of sales - probably half or more with button, and probably fewer than one in 20 Falcons sold with one. But - the button says “Falcon”, and not “Ranchero”. This despite Ford abandoning describing it as a “Falcon Ranchero” some time around ‘61, just in time for the Peanuts ad campaigns for the Falcon to not include the Ranchero.

Kinja'd!!!

I’m serious. ‘62 they had a Peanuts ad for every single Falcon variety other than the Ranchero.

The preset number correlates with the frequency somehow, with two exceptions*

6 - 101.9

5 - 100.5

4 - 104.7

3 - 103.7

2 - 102.7

1 - 92.5 *This used to be 101.9 but they changed frequencies.

Mine were low to high from 1-5, with 6 being the “floater” for trips.

(If you spend more than 1 day in the same place, you gotta save the good local radio station just in case someone plays with the buttons...)

Then I changed the battery. I know what 1 and 3 are programmed for, but the rest is anarchy.

I keep one floater button on one Sirius band for NFL games when I’m driving on Sundays. Kia’s tuner for Sirius is weird, so it’s easier to program the button to get back to the main game I’m interested in after floating around to the other games.
