!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! The E34 is my favorite generation of M5, there’s something about it I just really like. That is sort of ironic because when I got into cars I did not like the E34 at all.

The E34 is my real dream M5, not the E39. I just like the style better. This one looks really nice, although it’s far from my favorite color combo. Like you, I’d want dark green/tan.
And throwing stars. But still a sweet car.

Yes to all of that.

My local junkyard had an E34 M5 for sale a few years ago. I almost picked it up but thought better of it.

Squarish and
sensible
without being dowdy. A proper saloon car. (I’d probably get rid of the whitewalls though...)

Those wheels always amuse me, makes the car look like it is on whitewalls.
![]() 10/18/2017 at 18:10 |

The rims just give that illusion of whitewalls.
That said, would look better with a set of M parallels or some throwing stars.

To be fair, it was the car that got me into BMW.
Gib 1995 525i 4 speed automatic in Bright Red with black leather and burl walnut wood. Gib pls.

I eventually came to want a 540i in white with with a 5 speed.

Not sure what those would be, and generally not liking Bimmers much, I’d say you’ve definitely got my favorite one there and yes, if that one were mine, and the coachwork looked as nice as that specimen, I’d be looking for other BMW rim possibilities.

Like this one?
This is the car you just described. It’s even a 1995.

Now’s the time to find one, they haven’t yet started to go completely nuts on the appreciation curve behind their forebears. I think they will.

I don’t know how much attention you pay to any of the rubbish I write here, but I think the more staid and subdued a sedan looks, the better. The wheels on the bottom look like they’d be easier to clean than the ones on top, so there would go my vote between the two, but I’d want to consider other options, if there were any. But that bottom one is a very handsome automobile. (I’d want mine in white ...)
If I had a hundred grand to blow on a car, mine would be a Cadillac CTS V something like this, but I’d choose someplace else to photograph it:

My son’s hockey coach DDs a red ‘92 M5. He bought it used in ‘95. He was just telling me this past weekend that he just put the snow tires on it for the winter. It’s still in really good shape and must have well over 200k on it now, if not over 300k. He has a pretty cool fleet, just replaced a 98 V70R with an E350 wagon. His garage queen is a Crossfire SRT6. I’m guessing it has under 10k on it.

That’s awesome, I wish I could do something like that. After today’s episode in the 3 , I’m reminded of why I DD that and not the M. I don’t think I could afford to maintain a high mileage M car.
So you can drive a RWD car in Colorado in the winter? Good to know. Remember how we’ve talked about them fracking wells near where you are? Well I might be the one fracking those wells. I had a phone interview yesterday with a service company for a job in that area. Seemed to go well, but then that’s how I thought all my interviews went and it took me 10 months to find a job after many interviews.

Yep, you can DD rwd here. I used to DD an RX8. With a set of snows, you’re good. I’d say in the metro Denver area you may have about 5-10 day’s year where the side streets would be considered bad, but the main streets are fine. I’ve never engaged 4wd on the Taco for snow purposes, so I’m basically able to DD a rwd pickup here.
There are a few operators in our area, Crestone, XOG, Noble, and Anadarko. Crestone and XOG are the closest active ones right now. I’m not thrilled with it, but my only option would be to move. I don’t think we’re quite ready to do that right now. I wish you well on the job, hopefully it works out for you!

If I do move out there, the 3 is getting some snow tires and an LSD. I want an LSD for it anyways and oil money would provide.
I’ve worked for Noble, well Rosetta which Noble bought, and Anadarko before. Ironically, I had an interview with Noble last year at this time. They said I was exactly what they were looking for, but I guess me living in GA was a deal breaker. Living near a frac site wouldn’t really bother me than again, I did used to be a frac engineer.

I think both you and me need some manual green BMWs in our lives.

Well we both have 2 out of 3 there, so it’s not all bad.
I would make it manual, green, M cars —

You’re right, I need this.
