That is some prime Engrish right there.

Looks like an M52 fan clutch removal tool.

Your use of
Engrish
could be easily construed as a slur.

Still better than Google Translate

And if someone of Asian origin pipes up and says that they do not like it, I will happily change it.

Hmmm. I had that same exact tool set. Here it is after looking at it for 3 minutes and 12 seconds
Damn Chinesium

Wait until something offensive actually offends. Good plan.

More along the lines of “let the people who would theoretically be offended by it decide if it’s offensive or not”.

No, more along the lines of you are being a dick. Have a nice day.

May pre house the seamy side volitation.

Nope. I authored the sub-thread and I moderated my sub-thread. In fairness, though, “being a dick” is vague. “Being defensive and stubborn and immature” would have been much more precise. I work with twelve-year-olds all day long, so I recognize emotional intelligence when I don’t see it.

I dont get it, are you a mod here?

Nope.

Hey, what do I win?

Also, the fact that you need those tells me you have the wrong transmission. I have a nice gaping hole right where that fan would be...

I have a manual. Are manuals the wrong transmission?

Oh damn. Well... I’ve only seen that fan on an automatic. Shows you how much I know! My two E46's both had electric fans, and a giant gap between those and the belts.
I stand corrected! Happy shifting!
Are you doing a belt change? Or the infamous cooling system update?

It’s an E39, and I have to replace the thermostat housing. The fan is very much in the way of this.

yes... that’s right. I remember now that the E39 had that, while the E46 mostly had the electric fan. For whatever reasons.
Sorry about that. Otherwise that’s all a pretty straightforward job! I recall it taking around 30-40 minutes minus that fan removal of course.
Just a PSA, how old is the fan? I had a co-worker with a ‘99 328i where the fan exploded and took out everything in its path. Not sure if that’s a common thing with age, or how much a fan costs, but it has to be less than an expansion tank, two radiator hoses, and a hood.
