Nothing about it appeals to me. It would be more cumbersome to take care of and drive normally, does not tickle my fancy for any style of car I’d like to have.

Yes. The reason VW made the car in the first place is because they wanted to show that they can. Partly for personal satisfaction, partly to show others.
The reason people buy them is because they can. Partly for personal satisfaction, partly to show others.
This is a car that 100% fits its target market.

I would for sure. It wouldn’t be the first car I’d have in my (small) collection, but I would love to have one.

A Veyron? In Saskatoon? Do you know what the roads would do to that thing? No thanks.

No way. I could probably buy half of Dubuque Iowa for that money. And Dubuque looks better.

Meh. Even if I had unlimited money, a Veyron is pretty low on the list of cars I’d buy. I mean I wouldn’t rule it out, but I’ve got a lot of things to buy first

Probably for a year. Then I’d sell it. It was the Veyron challenge on Top Gear that got me into Top Gear so it’d be nice to drive and own one for a bit. Come to think of it, I’d probably just use if for half a year and then sell it. It’s not that pretty.

I could lots of Jukes for that price. I think they sold around $2,200,000 new, a well equipped new manual Juke is around $25k. I could buy 88 new jukes for the price of a Veyron. A good used Juke is around $12,000, you can buy 183 used Jukes for the price of a new Veyron. I know what car I buy.

I would like to drive one at speed, not a top speed run, but I’d like to see 200 in it. But I can’t say I’d ever purchase one...

Nope. I would certainly have a collection of money pits, but I’d pass on the ultimate money pit. It’s ugly, and not really that much faster than cars that cost half (or less) to purchase and maintain.

I just want to drive one. With that kind of money, I’d just start joining clubs where you can drive various things like that. Forget owning one. I’d probably own something relatively boring like a Singer 911.

Doubt it, too many other things higher on the list. You know, McLaren F1, P1, F40. Then there’s the land, the dream house w/ dream garage, personal race track maybe... Shit..I’m already broke.

I think this is the correct answer. Buy it, drive it around just to say you did, then sell it and buy something else.

May rent, wouldn’t buy, just to see what it’s like to drive.
I would have no problem buying a Lotus (something I’d buy with less net worth, or better-yet, a Tesla Roadster), McLaren, Koenigsegg (the supercar maker I most identify with), or Aston Martin.
But let’s be real: A Tesla Model S P100D with ludicrous mode is a far more practical, likely, accessible, and faster choice, so I’d probably buy one of those so I could enjoy regularly. You always have more fun in the car you have with you than the car you don’t.

What bothers me most is I don’t think you can even drive this across the country on a grand tour without a major intensive service.

You know, I’m not sure. I’ve never seen one. I bet you could pull it off somehow, even I feel it were just a track car (which, let’s face it, it would be). I am fairly sure there are no dealers, so you’d need to go to some lengths to get one.

I just looked it up. The CCX is street legal in the US. Ultra rare, though.
Would probably get a newer one and keep it exclusively for track use, as mentioned.

Can’t improve on the Veyron either. But at least this looks better than the Veyron, and has plenty of noise and power to enjoy; plus a leftover $500k to do whatever you want.
