Woohoo!

I haven’t quite graduated to that level yet. I recently did up my car in Chemical Guys White Light and White Wax, and good lord I can’t see anymore! I am dutifully impressed by the color and shine. I didn’t want to go full sealant yet, because I have some paint chips that need taken care of first. I’m really avoiding that task, though. ugh...

We’re midway through October so it might as well be Christmas

Are you thinking about coatings when you say sealants? Coatings you need to thoroughly prepare before you coat, sealants, you just use in place of waxing, so much easier and lasts longer. Some leave a waxed look which is a deeper and darker gloss.

Sealants are great. The likes of the Gyeon Cure (white liquid on the left) and the Gtechniq C2v3 (second bottle from the right) you can expect three months protection and can use then as drying aids in the mean time to aid drying and top up the protection and extend the life indefinitely.

The regular christmas, I could do without.

I’m more talking about things like the Gyeon Prime, or JetSeal when I say sealants. I guess you’re calling that coating in this instance. The hard cured stuff. Put it on carefully, let it cure for 24 hours, etc.

I’ve been super pleasantly surprised with the shine and color of the white wax, but less impressed with the hydrophobic qualities. Can I coat over that with something else? Collinite 845? Gyeon Cure? Os would that be bad?

I went full clay bar on the car, cleaned the paint to near perfection. I wanted to go after it with my RO and a good polish, but I just didn’t have time. Darned kids...

Ye’, the likes of Gyeon Prime and Gtechniq C1+, Crystal Serum Light and CS Black are incredibly great coatings.

You can seal on top of wax to get the best of both worlds. The sealant will give a greater life to the wax and you’ll get the benefits of a sealant. The life of the sealant will be impaired slightly but using the sealant as a drying aid will as I say extend the life of the sealant.

Some wax over the sealant but I don’t see the point of that, yes you get the deep gloss of the wax but you don’t get any benefit of the sealant. I don’t get it.

Explain as a drying aid. You mean post wash, car is wet, spritz on the sealant and dry? What would be your pick there, Gyeon Cure?

Ye’, wash the car and thoroughly rinse. If there is still a lot of water on the car, open end hose, sheet the water off.

Then using Sonax BSD, CarPro Reload, Gtechniq C2v3, Gyeon Cure, etc... put two or three squirts of the sealant on a microfibre cloth and wipe over. turn the cloth over or use a second one and buff. Continue onto the next panel and so on.
