Apparently Arizona has a hockey team. Who knew! I haven’t been to a hockey game in a few decades, and boy are they weird. There’s a giant Canadian flag hanging from the roof.

I’ll be going to a soccer match on Saturday. There will be plenty of Mexican flags there. Also, the Coyotes play in Glendale, which is the nexk tattoo of Arizona.

The old logo was far better IMO. It’s unique, feels much more Arizona, and I dig the inclusion of the Native American artistic stylings. The current logo is just “generic coyote #73"

I have to agree. I’ve never loved the team, but the logo was unique and creative, and had a brand recognition before it was changed for the sake of change. Now it could be a log for any sport in any location.

There are a ton of Canadians in the east valley. They probably make up a good portion of the fans out here.

Those were the best uniforms. The Diamondbacks were rocking epic ‘90s gear back then as well.

All the Arizona teams except the Suns color matched the Cardinals. I think it was to spite Jerry Colangelo. Both thise uniforms screamed “Arizona”.

Yeah, I think they’ve threatened to leave every year since they moves into their stadium. Glendale hosed thenselves building all this shit out here. At least they’d have fans in Seattle. This place is almost all Redwing fans.

Seattle could’t make this work 15-20 years ago, but population and money have reached a critical mass since, and enough transplants to actually put butts in seats. I am sure that’s an issue there too, and why people in AZ would root for a team from Detroit. Either that or more being stuck in the 90s, the Wings were pretty awesome then.

it was intermission during a pre-season game and everyone was out on the concourses checking out the new building. the place actually was pretty well packed, just not right then.
