Something seriously wonky with their music setup. It would play about 5 seconds of a song, then play the full breakfast commercial, followed by the same 5 seconds of whatever tune that was and then the commercial again and repeat this cycle ad infinitum. It was driving me buggy, and I was only there for 15 minutes. I can’t imagine what kind of torture it was for the employees and why they didn’t do anything about it (assuming they could still hear it and didn’t tune it out completely...)

When I worked at a Toyota dealership in the summer of 2005, they had music from a CD changer in a room upstairs. It was like a 100-disc changer or something, but most of that space went unused, in favor of maybe 3-5 random mix CDs over and over again. Most of the songs were inoffensive, but there were a couple exceptions.

Well, look at it this way. You’ll never switch a blade on a guy in shades.

If I had an 8-track I’m not listening to meat loaf.

Corey Hart and Starship are stuff I would listen to willingly. Certainly much better most of the generic top 40 stuff that gets played at most places.

Long ago, I worked retail in front of a wall of TVs. One holiday season, that wall played The Wedding Singer on repeat for a solid month. I was doing 50 hours a week easily. In front of that wall.

I use to be able to recite the whole movie.

We just have Pandora at the place I work. We have 2 or 3 different stations, but the most prevalent is 90s Pop-Punk. It’s horrible. So much angst.

Trust me, if you hear each of these songs multiple times a day, every day, they are no longer appealing.

I was working at a Performance Bikes shop a year ago, and I recall Christmas time to be the worst. The holiday music playlist was so terrible and was torturous.

They also had a yoga playlist, which pissed off my coworkers.
