And people said the BRZ was slow...

It’s not slow, people are just whiny idiots who think anything less than 400hp isn’t worth consideration

to be fair, they cost way more to fix if something happens

Same thing in motorcycles, skill and seat time go a long way. I can beat people on supersports and Superbikes on a 50hp supermoto.

Damn son, any modifications to your car? Were you driving at 100% during this?

You had an instructor in the car, so this was likely the Novice group. Track days aren’t just about what cars you can pass, focus on your own driving. I’m also wondering what the passing zone rules were?

Oppo post history says sticky tires, lowering springs on stock dampers, and camber plates. It is a performance pack BRZ though with upgraded factory suspension and some serious Brembo brakes.

More driver than car, I’d imagine :). Took my old BRZ to a couple Porsche club HPDEs and I was able to pass every car in my run group, save the 991 Turbo S that was out there. He was too wickedly fast everywhere. I didn’t have any problems catching Cayman S, a 997 S, WRX STI, Mustang GT, etc. It wasn’t because the BRZ is faster, it’s just that I was more comfortable on a track.

The group I run with requires an instructor in all groups except the advanced Solo. I’m normally in the intermediate group and hadn’t ever run this configuration on the track before so got bumped into novice.

6 passing zones through the full 3.1 mile course, must receive a point by from the lead driver
