My replacement door showed up today.

Perfect. Get rid of the pin-striping on the rest of the car, and no one will ever know that it’s not original

My neighbor found out the hard way that the door had been replaced - had to get an emissions test, and got a pass - for a different car. Turns out the VIN info on the door was still from the donor.

Yikes! Yeah, I discovered a replacement door on my truck, too. I didn’t have to trip over any emissions stuff, but it had me second-guessing my GVWR, and I had to double-check my glovebox to make sure that I had the right RPO codes in there.

Ooh yeah, would be a pain in a truck where that info is actually important.

Who’s the dummy the checks the door tag for the Vin?

The one on the dash is easier to find anyway. My tag with vehicle info and vin is on the trunk floor under the spare tire cover.

Dude at the emissions place, apparently.

Thankfully, I live in lawless Indiana, in a county with no safety or emissions inspections.
