There have been a lot of Miata purchases lately. World domination is within reach.

But how can you take over the world when your engine is in the wrong place?
Jk jk, Miatas are epic...

I don’t have one. This is the only reason why. Not me but shows the issue. Legs are also splayed at a 45 degree angle so I can’t shift or steer.

Yup, it’s my 1991 SW21 (the one with the 2.2l Camry engine). It’s mid-engine and has a flat-plane crankshaft, much like a Ferrari.
The paint is the only aftermarket modification I’ve done to it. Bone stock otherwise, just repairs and maintenance. It’s great fun to daily and autocross too.

If the seat went back say another 4" I’d be fine. Head would still hit the top but I would never have the top up.

Here’s a pic from my first proper road trip, when it still had a paper license plate. 2 years later and I’m still smiling whenever I get this car out on a twisty back road.

While not mine, my Dad’s car is an 05. It has only around 57k on it. I maintain it for him, and I occasionally drive it when I’m in town. Between the two of us, we’ve had four Miatas over the years.

I’m in the process of getting winter ready. I’m assuming you went with the Paco 3" lift kit? How was it to install? Paco motorsports say it’s super simple, maybe an hour, but I’ve seen user reviews saying it’s monstrously difficult...

Dude rallycross in the Miata was an absolute scream, but I was beyond bummed that none of the video came out from my runs, except for my 2nd slowest run of the day. Evidently GoPros don’t work real well in 110 degree temps (it was somewhere in the 130 range by heat index I think). I’ll definitely be going again, but maybe when it’s not as hot out.

I’ve had my fair share of Saturday drives around PA, or days where I take “the scenic route” home from work.
The best trip was back in the summer. A former coworker of mine was getting married in Raleigh NC, and I turned it into a 6 day trip. We drove straight down, but on the way home we spent 3 days bombing around West Virginia back roads and taking the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia. It was a blast. One of these days I’ll make a post about it and share some pics.

Hell naw. I’m of the opinion that the ND is the ugliest thing Mazda has ever made.
I was gifted the NC with minor crash damage, and a family friend in Minnesota is doing the body work. I don’t care that it’s been a year because it’s a car I don’t really need and I have so many other priorities right now that I rarely ever remember it exists. It’s a nice car, though... 2007 PRHT Grand Touring in red with tan leather, 50k miles. But the thing that makes me not that excited: *sigh* automatic. It’s probably the best torque converter auto I’ve driven and the car is still a total blast, but... Automatic Miata. :/

Yep, Paco kit. It’s simple in theory, but it’s a bit finicky. I have Bilsteins and adjustable-height collars on my springs, and it was still a bit of a bear to compress the shock enough to fit the spacer in. Definitely a 2-person job, and definitely watch your fingers.
Other than that, great kit. I’ll be putting it back on in a month or so.

The windshield is at least partially effective in deflecting wind, bugs and debris, but unless you fit something taller, some manner of eye/face protection is a must above 40 mph or so. The occasional bug or rock will still find a way. I just wear a helmet every time.
No issues or annoyances so far apart from having to check a handful of critical nuts and bolts regularly. I have an engine code likely caused by the EGR valve getting clogged up, but that’s neither an Exocet-specific problem nor one that impedes driveability. I’m planning on giving it and the rest of the intake hardware a thorough cleaning over the winter, as I’m guessing it’s never been done in the life of this 160k drivetrain.

Quite true. I’m noticing one from the transmission bleeder hole. Smells like trans fluid.
...really don’t want to pull the transmission off again.
