It’s a lot of work, but looks savable to me?

1985 was just two years ago though. What the hell happened??

It looks very bad and the truth is likely even worse. I doubt that this could saved without using a suitably crashed donor car.

Looks more like rust with AE86 parts. I like it

The time difference between 1985 and the release of the song 1985 is still slightly bigger than the time between the song coming out and today.

There’s a song called 1985, since when?

I’m stuck in 1987, don’t know about you.

A car that rare and collectible, it’s always worth it.

I would be scared to see what the underside of that looked like. If the outside looks that bad, the underside could be a horror show.

I’d pass on it. But somebody out there has the fabrication skills to make it happen. Maybe after a few more years, as these become even harder to find, someone might be desperate enough to use this as a starting point. Of course, it’d be even rustier when that day comes, unless somebody fetches it up right now and gets to work on it.

Maybe for the plastics and the glass. That’s about it

Eh, depends on your skillset.

If you go to the ebay link you’ll see the issue. It’s not necessarily the visible body panel rust, that’s not *quite* so hard to deal with. It’s the hidden stuff. It appears that both the outer and inner rocker panels are rusted through. That’s a more difficult repair and may require squaring up the chassis.

By the power of E U R O B E A T, I say it is worthy of a restoration

Someone with time and space could make a nice profit parting it out. Wheels look like a good polish will fix them alone.
