I’ve got a manual 2013 Subaru BRZ from now until Tuesday night. Going on a nice trip and staying in an airbnb in Hartford. Hoping to find some leaves up in the Northwest area of the state. The BRZ should make a fun vehicle for cruising around and checking out the local mountains. Sure we could go all the way up to Vermont to get the good stuff, but we didn’t want to spend that much time driving. Leaves have only just started changing but it’s okay, weather will be beautiful today/tomorrow so it will be a nice time.

Tell me if the clutch smoke in the BRZ seems differently than normal clutch smoke. It’s a rental car after all, these tests must be preformed.

The good news is you’ll be able to get a nice night of rest in Hartford. It is the sleepiest, quietest ghost town I have ever witnessed. On the weekend the whole “town” up and leaves.

Sounds perfect to me! We just needed a relaxing getaway anyways. I could never think an urban are to be relaxing but it’s perfect to me if it’s quiet and deserted then. Not looking for a party!

But the dude is totally chill, I wouldn’t do that to his car! I’m sure others do which is why I would never rent out a car but I’ll surely take care of it at least.

Would be nice to head to Toronto. I bet it’s real nice right about now.

If you go out for dinner on the town you’ll be able to count the other cars on the road with one hand. Sunday morning is borderline eerie with how quiet it is. When Starbucks is even closed on Sunday then you know you might be the only living creatures around!
The state house and the park near it are nice places to visit. Mark Twain House is also in the area but I never visited. I have a 50 great hikes in CT book I could find some recommendations from.

I’ve thought about renting a car to teach my sister manual.

If you have time Route 7 from kent to salisbury is one of thegreatest driving roads. Also the Berkshires just over the border in Mass are pretty. Great Barrington is a cute town.
Are you staying in Hartford or New Hartford?

Yup, that is exactly the route we drove. We took route 7 from 84 all the way up to Canaan and then drove down route 44 into Hartford. Some really great driving on that road plus some nicely changed leaves and Hills. Even stopped at Kent Falls for a bit. Staying in West Hartford, seems to be some trendy spots.

VERY much learned what you meant by this haha. West Hartford was a nice trendy area while Hartford proper was a dump! Nice park downtown and some cool buildings to look at but some other areas were downright scary.

I missed your 8:50 reply. I was wondering if you’d be charged by the hour in Hartford, or beaver pelt in New Hartford.
Hartford was nice and then all the rich upper middle class moved to Avon and Farmington, hense the Coach store off 44.
